Determination

Deshal's family faced severe financial difficulties. The family relied on the modest income from his father's small tea shop. The financial situation was so dire that sending Deshal to good schools was out of the question. However, Deshal never allowed his family's circumstances to stand in the way of his education.

Education

From a young age, Deshal was determined to achieve something significant. He consistently topped his classes and maintained a serious attitude towards his studies. Through his hard work and dedication, he secured admission to IIIT Jabalpur, where he earned his engineering degree.

UPSC Preparation

Deshal's elder brother served in the Indian Navy and was martyred in 2010. His brother's dream was to see Deshal become an officer. Driven by this desire to fulfil his brother's wish, Deshal dedicated himself to his studies, working tirelessly day and night. His brother's martyrdom instilled in him a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility, motivating him to leave no stone unturned in his UPSC preparation.

Perseverance

Deshal began preparing for the UPSC exam while pursuing his engineering degree. Despite not having the funds for coaching, he never gave up. Instead, he relied on the internet and books for his studies, dedicating himself entirely to UPSC preparation. His hard work paid off when he secured the 82nd rank in his very first attempt.

Success mantra

Deshal never let his circumstances hold him back. He shares that revision is crucial in exam preparation, advising that one should revise as many times as possible to improve their chances of success.
