Rajeev Samant completed his graduation in America and worked at a prestigious company for a few years before deciding to move back to his country. His passion for agriculture led him to leave his reputable job and try his hands at farming. After returning to India, he began cultivating mangoes, roses, grapes, and is now recognized as the ‘Wine King of India.’

Sula Vineyards

Rajeev Samant founded the country’s leading winery, Sula Vineyards, which has now grown into a business worth Rs 4309 crore. He established the first winery in Nashik in 1999. Today, his winery is counted among the most trusted wine brands in India. He is the founder and CEO of the establishment. 

Education

Rajeev Samant, born in Mumbai, pursued his higher studies in America. He graduated in Economics from Stanford University and earned a master’s degree in Engineering Management. After completing his education, he began working at the renowned company Oracle Corporation in the US.  

Leaving the job

Driven by his desire to contribute to the agricultural sector in India, he left his job in 1993 and returned to his country. He began cultivating flowers and fruits on 20 acres of family land in Nashik. The climate in the city proved to be ideal for growing grapes. 

Successful business

To learn about winemaking, Rajeev Samant travelled to California and met renowned winemakers. He studied the winemaking process extensively and after much hard work, laid the foundation of his own wine establishment. Today, he is a successful businessman with a net worth of thousands of crores.
