Rajni Bector's entrepreneurial journey from Karachi to Ludhiana culminated in founding Cremica, India's prominent biscuit exporter, symbolizing resilience and success.
 

Rajni Bector, originally from Karachi, found herself in Ludhiana after the partition of India. At just 17 years old, she married into a local business family. While her children were away at boarding school, Rajni seized the chance to enroll in a bakery course at Punjab Agriculture University.

Her knack for baking and ice cream recipes quickly gained popularity among friends, prompting her to venture into a small business. Starting with a modest investment of Rs 300, she purchased an oven and began making ice cream in her backyard. However, financial challenges soon loomed over her budding enterprise. It was then that her husband, Dharamvir, came to her aid with Rs 20,000, enabling her to establish an ice-cream manufacturing unit in 1978.

The brand she founded was named Cremica, derived from the Hindi word 'cream ka' (made of cream). Beginning with ice-creams, Rajni expanded her offerings despite facing the economic hurdles of the 1980s. With unwavering support from her family, particularly her husband, Rajni transformed Cremica into a thriving success story.

Today, Cremica stands as India's second-largest exporter of biscuits, distributing its products across more than 60 countries. It is also the preferred supplier of Western desserts at countless weddings in North India, boasting an impressive annual turnover of Rs 7,000 crore.

Rajni Bector's journey is a testament to perseverance and entrepreneurial spirit, inspiring countless aspiring women entrepreneurs across India. Her story underscores the power of determination and family support in overcoming challenges and achieving remarkable success in the business world.
