Nadeem was operating his restaurant business well until the pandemic hit the world. The lockdown made it difficult to attract customers and bearing the household responsibilities became troublesome. He tried his luck one last time before giving up and established a kebab selling business.
Lucknow: Nadeem used to run a hotel in Shahjahanpur. Being from a financially weaker background, he launched many startups but failed in all of them. Nadeem was on the verge of giving up on his life since luck did not seem to favour him. He had the responsibility of child rearing, and the innocent faces of his kids gave him new hope for starting his journey again.
Who is Nadeem?
Nadeem is a resident of Shahjahanpur. His father Salim and grandfather Habibullah were famous among the locals with a nickname Controli. Taking the responsibility of his family business, people started recognizing him as Nadeem Controli.
The pandemic phase
Nadeem got married in the year 2010; he has a daughter and a son. He was operating his business well until the pandemic hit the world. The lockdown made it difficult to attract customers and bearing the household responsibilities became troublesome. The financial distress affected Nadeem mentally. To make a living, he started selling chole bhature on a food cart, but that venture proved to be unsuccessful. He started contemplating giving up on his life, but his family’s support gave him hope to not give up.
Kebab business
In November 2023, Nadeem moved to Lucknow and set up a food stall under the name Nadeem Delhi Kebab, near Bholenath Kuan near Akbari Gate in Old Lucknow. He had invested Rs 10 thousand in his new business venture. He sets up his stall from 5 in the evening to 11 in the night. He sells his seekh kebabs at Rs 15 piece which is substantially lower than the price in main markets. He has a 40-50 footfall every day.
After several failed ventures, Nadeem expresses his gratitude to God for his success. He believes that with his family’s love and support, he has been able to cross all the hurdles in his life.
