Sreenath, hailing from Munnar, Kerala, worked as a porter at Ernakulam railway station, earning a meagre income. His family was dependent on him. Providing adequately for his daughter was becoming increasingly difficult, and he often worried that his financial struggles might impact her future. In hopes of a better life, he determined to start preparing for civil services exam.
Enduring challenges
The path to achieving this dream was not easy but Sreenath bravely faced every obstacle along the way. He had an unwavering faith in himself and continued to prepare for competitive exams without giving up. He had no money to enrol in a coaching centre or buy study materials, so, he used the free Wi-Fi at the railway station to study on his mobile phone. With immense hard work, he ultimately succeeded in the Kerala Public Service Commission exam.
UPSC success
Encouraged by his PSC success, he began preparing for the UPSC exams. He faced failures in his first three attempts, however, he remained devoted to his studies. In his fourth attempt, Sreenath succeeded in the UPSC exam, becoming an IAS officer. His journey is truly inspiring and remarkable in every way.
