Shivam Singh secured 877th rank in his first UPSC attempt. Presently, he is serving as the SDM in Gorakhpur. Even after having cleared the UPSC exams, Shivam aspires to achieve a better rank in future to become an IFS officer.
Shivam Singh, a resident of Pragati Puram, Rae Bareli, UP, has achieved a remarkable feat by passing the UPSC exam. His father, Ramnaresh Singh, has been running a bookshop for two decades near the gates of Vikas Bhawan in the district. This was Shivam Singh's first attempt at the UPSC exam, and he secured 877th position.
UPPSC
Before this, Shivam Singh appeared for the UPPSC exams and achieved a remarkable rank of 38. Presently, he is serving as the SDM in Khajni district of Gorakhpur. In the past, he has also been posted in Chauri Chaura district. He received guidance from his seniors that motivated him to continue preparing for the competitive exams. He believes that with dedication and perseverance, anyone can conquer any difficulty in their life.
Education
Shivam gives the credit of his success to his parents, acknowledging their support despite limited resources. He attended St Peter's School for his education. Then he pursued a BTech degree at a private engineering college in Lucknow, and an MTech degree at IIT Dhanbad. Despite receiving a job offer from a private company during his studies, he chose to pursue his goal of joining the civil services.
IFS dreams
Even after having cleared the UPSC exams, Shivam aspires to achieve a better rank in future. His ultimate aim is to serve the country as an IFS officer. He highlights that he will continue with his UPSC preparation to achieve his goals.
