Extraordinary success story of Navneet Anand, who cracked UPSC while working in CISF

By the age of 21, Navneet Anand secured a position as an Assistant Commandant in the CISF. At the age of 23, in his third attempt in 2023, he achieved the 499th rank in the UPSC exam.

Navneet Anand hails from a small village of Harbhanga in Bihar. Since childhood, he aspired to join the Indian Armed Forces. However, due to eye-related health issues, he couldn’t achieve this dream. Rather than dwelling on failures and accepting his defeat, he began looking for other ways to achieve his dream. He became an Assistant Commandant in the CISF and then cracked the UPSC exams at the young age of 23. 

Family

Navneet lost his father in a road accident when he was just a kid. His mother had to shoulder the responsibilities of the household. Despite the financial challenges, he never gave up on his goals. He persevered through all the setbacks and continued to move forward. 

Education

He received his early education from Sainik School in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. He aspired to join the National Defence Academy (NDA) but his dream was left unaccomplished due to myopia. He changed his path and graduated in Economics from Ambedkar University Delhi. During his college studies, he began preparing for competitive exams. By the age of 21, he secured a position as an Assistant Commandant in the CISF. He also cleared the UGC NET JRF and CDS exam. 

Achieving dreams

Despite having secured a respectable job, Navneet Anand continued to prepare for the UPSC CSE exams. He faced failure in the first two attempts. He identified his mistakes and kept working hard. At the age of 23, he achieved the 499th rank in the UPSC exam in his third attempt in 2023.
