Noida’s Rohit Goswami experienced failure in class 12. His father encouraged him to learn a lesson from the setbacks. Motivated by this, he founded ‘Yuva Soch Army,’ dedicated to assisting people in overcoming challenging situations and contributing to society.

New Delhi: Failing in board exams often make people feel dejected. Rohit Goswami, a resident of Greater Noida, went through the same experience and felt uninspired to continue the journey. The setback of failing in the class 12 exams can make it seem like the door to future progress is shut. However, Rohit’s father encouraged him to overcome the disappointment.

The new enthusiasm to excel in studies gave him the confidence to pursue teaching after completing his higher education. His own life’s journey of ups and downs made him realize the importance of career guidance in schools. Motivated by this, he founded ‘Yuva Soch Army,’ dedicated to assisting people in overcoming challenging situations and contributing to society.

Launch of the initiative

Rohit Goswami wanted to do something for his society from a young age. At the age of 16, he actively participated in the social campaign in the Jewar area of Greater Noida. During the time, he learned about the increasing number of alcohol addiction cases. He found that people focused on liquor ban more than the promotion of educational and medical facilities. Recognizing the need for a change, he took part in awareness rallies organized by village women with the slogan ‘Give us education! Give up alcohol!’

Family’s support

Rohit Goswami got an opportunity to join the Bharatiya Kisan Union. He believed that the platform could be used to extend his message to every household. He received immense support from his father, Chandrapal Singh, who transitioned from teaching to running a business. His father always valued education and taught Rohit that it can lead anyone to prosperity.

Overcoming challenges

In the year 2018, Rohit Goswami failed in class 12 board exams. The family had dreamt of seeing him as a soldier. The major setback made him withdraw from society. It was during this time that his father provided crucial guidance to him. He urged Rohit to view the failure as a turning point. He realized his true potential and decided to counsel students on various topics.

He understands that failures are a part of life and impactful lessons can be learned from them. With this perspective, he established the Yuva Soch Army in the year 2021. Currently, he is pursuing an MSW degree from a college in Agra.

Free education

The primary aim of Rohit’s organization is to empower people. Operating across diverse areas, their initiatives include the distribution of a substantial number of sanitary pads to women. In 2020, campaigns and sessions were organized on the topics of menstruation. They have established schools for children in slum areas of Delhi-NCR, offering free education to young learners.

Work during the pandemic

During the pandemic, Rohit Goswami’s team of 11 volunteers worked in making the vaccines available at the hospitals. He also had the opportunity of meeting Major General Pramod Kumar Sehgal, Major General GD Bakshi, and Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Amanpreet. He felt motivated by looking at the incredible work of these individuals.

Women empowerment

‘Nari Sahsi Abhiyan’ was launched in the year 2022. The initiative involved training 2000 women on how to sell products online to become independent. Notably, 100 women received Rs 5000 each to kickstart their independent ventures. These women are engaged in diverse occupations including sewing, embroidery, making pickles, soaps, and candles. So far, the campaign has imparted training to women from Greater Noida and Aligarh.
