YSRCP leader Vivekananda Reddy’s body was found under suspicious circumstances, claimed his personal assistant Krishna Reddy.

Hyderabad: As news of Andhra Pradesh minister YS Vivekananda’s death spread, his personal assistant Krishna Reddy filed a complaint with the Pulivendula urban police station. In the complaint, Krishna Reddy requested a probe into the cause of death.

Vivekananda Reddy was alone at his residence and his body was found in the bathroom with blood splattered across the floor and walls.

Krishna Reddy, in his complaint, said that he had reached Vivekananda’s house at 5 30am on Friday and rang the door bell. When there was no response, the PA enquired with the domestic help and the watchman. They noticed that a side door was open and upon entering the house, they found Vivekananda’s body.

The YSRCP has issued a press release that said it demanded a high level probe by the CBI into the death of YS Vivekananda Reddy.

Party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said that the reason behind the death of YS Vivekananda Reddy must be probed by a high level investigation agency as the circumstance leading to the death causes concern.

The party went on to allege that there has been a methodical attack on the YSR family members.

Vasireddy Padma had pointed out that while YS Rajasekhara Reddy was a victim of helicopter crash, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was attacked at the Vizag airport.

She concluded that only a high level probe will be able to bring the truth out.

Vivekananda Reddy is the brother of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and uncle of present Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

A case has now been registered under Section 174 (Suspicious death) of the CrPC.

Meanwhile, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy also expressed concern over Vivekananda's death and demanded a thorough investigation.

Addressing the media, Vijayasai said that the possibility of a conspiracy could not be ruled out until the autopsy report was released.

He also said that YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy was on his way to Pulivendula and the last rites of Vivekananda would be conducted on Friday evening or on Saturday morning.

Vivekananda became an MP for two consecutive terms from Kadapa in 1999 and 2004.

Though YS Jagan Mohan Reddy formed YSRCP in 2011 after his father's death in a helicopter crash, Vivekananda Reddy remained in Congress. He joined the YSRCP ahead of the 2014 elections.

Early this morning, News suggested that the YSRCP leader had passed away due to a cardiac arrest. But just hours later, news of finding his body under suspicious circumstances came to the fore.
