Vikas Gowda has been charged with public intoxication and house trespassing under IPC sections following a complaint made by CISF authorities at Bengaluru International Airport.

Police have detained a 23-year-old YouTuber who claimed to have spent more than 24 hours filming movies on his mobile phone at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport without being caught.

Vikas Gowda, a Yelahanka resident in Bengaluru, arrived at the airport on April 7 at around 12 p.m. with a ticket to Chennai on an Air India flight, according to reports. According to the authorities, he did not catch the flight intentionally and was instead wandering around the airport filming a video on his cell phone.

On April 12, he put out the claimed video on his YouTube channel, which has almost 1.13 lakh subscribers, allegedly stating that he had spent a whole day at the airport and walked into numerous areas of the airport grounds, so deceiving security.

He waited at the airport for almost five hours, according to police, and because it was not an international trip, Gowda left without being stopped a few hours later, claiming to have missed his departure.

On April 12, Gowda posted a video to his YouTube channel (@VikasGowda1) claiming a longer wait at the airport, along with scathing remarks about security measures.
After shooting the video, he departed the airport, telling security that he failed to catch his flight. He stated that the security staff did not suspect him because he had a legitimate ticket and boarding permit.

The preliminary inquiry revealed that he did it for notoriety, and that his allegations in the supposed video were exaggerated.

The matter was brought to the attention of airport security personnel on April 15, and a case was filed against Mr Gowda under Sections 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief) and 448 (house trespass) of the Indian Penal Code, according to the officer.
