Women’s Day: PM Modi promotes products made by women

On International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promoted several products made by women 

Bengaluru: On International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to women as they continue to inspire and influence others in the world. 

At the same time, he also displayed various products he intends to promote. 

He purchased Assamese Gamusa. He said, “You have seen me wear the Gamusa very often. It is extremely comfortable. Today, I bought a Gamusa made by various self-help groups of Kakatipapung Development Block.”

Emphasizing on Nari Shakti, he also informed the general public that he had purchased Nilavilakku from Kerala. 

He said, “I am eagerly awaiting to receive Classic Palm Craft Nilavilakku made by women based in Kerala. It is commendable how our #NariShakti has preserved and popularised local crafts and products.”

From Kerala, the Prime Minister next turned his attention to West Bengal. 

This time, it was about jute products. He said, “Made by tribal communities of the state, you all must have a jute product from West Bengal in your homes!”

Narendra Modi also informed that he had bought a shawl from Nagaland. 

Another product that the Prime Minister promoted on International Women’s Day was a Khadi product.

Narendra Modi said, “Khadi is closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and India’s rich history. Bought a Khadi Cotton Madhubani Painted Stole.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been a strong supporter of women empowerment. His government has also introduced several schemes that have helped women live with dignity.
