Bengaluru: The entire nation is waging a war against coronavirus as it continues to spread, affecting thousands and killing hundreds in the country.

But in West Bengal, its chief minister Mamata Banerjee has been waging a war against the Centre!

It’s a known fact that the Centre had sent Inter-Ministerial Central Teams to conduct a field visit of the COVID-19 hotspot districts of Kolkata and Jalpaiguri with the state police and pilot cars of the Border Security Force accompanying the ICMT.

After a big fight over the issue, the West Bengal CM finally gave her consent for the teams to do their work.

However, as per Republic TV, the West Bengal chief secretary Rajiva Sinha wrote a letter to MHA on Tuesday about his apprehensions over sending the teams without prior intimations to the state government that led to a lack of prior arrangements and logistic support for the teams.

Apurva Chandra, a leader of the visiting teams had stated that the teams were not receiving cooperation from the West Bengal government.

While the centre has sent the teams to help out the West Bengal government deal with the pandemic, the West Bengal government feels that the Centre is playing politics as it sees a potential issue in it to win the next year’s state elections.

A TMC MP has also openly said that the Centre is sending such teams only to non-BJP states and further added that no cremations were taking place in a hurry nor are there any intentions to bury covid-19 numbers.

Well, at such a crucial juncture, we only hope and pray the West Bengal government doesn’t make it a political slugfest.

West Bengal Governor has also urged Mamata Banerjee to set aside petty politics and cooperate with centre to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
