Hidma is a prominent leader in the Naxalite organization who commands significant respect among the Naxalites in the division. He is a formidable figure and resides in the Naxalite protected area in Jagdalpur with his family. Recently, four high-ranking officials visited his residence unannounced, instilling fear in the organization. Hidma was not present at the time, and the officials talked with his mother. The Superintendent of Police reassured Hidma's mother that their visit aimed solely to ensure the safety of the villagers.

State leaders and officials receive security at various levels, and similarly Hidma enjoys protection with his Naxalite organization. He is surrounded by armed Naxalites who ensure his safety around the clock, making it impossible to catch him.

Visit by the officials

Despite the risks, Sukma SP Kiran Chauhan, Additional SP Nikhil Rakhecha (IPS), along with Gaurav Mandal and DSP Nishant Pathak, demonstrated courage by venturing into Hidma's domain. His house in Purvi village, Sukma district, is quite modest. Hidma was found absent from the premise during the officials’ visit, however, the officers met with his mother and the local villagers. They emphasized their mission to ensure safety and well-being of the villagers.

Furthermore, they highlighted the government’s commitment to delivering essential services to rural areas. The villagers were also informed about the rehabilitation programmes for Naxalites who willingly surrender. The officers’ sensitive approach to the matter left a positive impression on the villagers and they successfully established trust between both parties.

Agricultural activities

Reports suggest that Naxalites are engaged in agricultural activities in the region. The PLGA battalion also contribute to the endeavours. The various crops include coconut, banana, brinjal, and maize. The Naxalites regularly visit the area for crop maintenance and irrigation.

The Naxalites have also made a rest area in the eastern part, situated along the banks of a village pond. The area is equipped with comfortable seating and other essential amenities for the visitors. However, the area has now been taken over by the security forces.
