Election Commission of India empowers Indian citizens through voter helpline services. Through the ECI's helpline number or official website, you can file a complaint related to election and voting.

The first phase for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will begin from April 19. New voters must be filled with excitement to cast their vote for the first time. Amidst this election fever, it is essential to educate yourself about potential issues you may encounter during the voting process. If someone stops you from casting your vote, then are aware about what actions you can take at that moment? What are the proper procedures to follow and where can one file a complaint? Let’s find out answers to these questions.

Voting without an EPIC card

If you possess a voter ID card and your name is enlisted in the voter list, then you are eligible to cast your vote. On the day of election day, if you lose or misplace your EPIC card, you can still cast your vote. For that, you must carry a voter slip and an identity card such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, ration card, and driving license etc.

If you are carrying all the essential documents and yet, someone prevents you from voting at the polling booth, you have the right to file a complaint. The Election Commission of India will promptly address such incidents.

Voter helpline

To report any such issue, you can call the ECI’s voter helpline number at 1950. Remember to add your STD code with it. This voter helpline not only allows you to file complaint, but you can also receive information like the voting date in your area, election regulations, online registration process, EPIC number, and more.
