BJP leader Chaudhary Yashpal Singh was shot dead in Saharanpur on October 8 and another BJP leader Kabir Tiwari was gunned down on October 10 in Basti in Uttar Pradesh
Saharanpur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dhara Singh, 47, was shot dead at Deoband, Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Thus three BJP leaders have been killed in one-week in Uttar Pradesh, causing the concern.
Dhara Singh was a BJP corporator, working as in-charge at a local sugar mill, was on his way to work from his residence in Deoband. He was on his way to work when he was stopped by two unidentified men who came on bike and shot Dhara Singh near Rankhandi railway crossing.
Dhara Singh was killed on the spot.
According to reports, the unidentified assailants opened fire at Dhara Singh. He was rushed to hospital but was declared brought dead at a community health centre.
Currently his mortal remains have been sent for post-mortem. The reason for murder is not known yet.
This is the third murder of the BJP leader in one week.
On October 8, BJP leader Chaudhary Yashpal Singh was shot dead at Saharanpur in Deobandh area. Similar to Dhara Singh, Yashpal was also shot by bike-borne unidentified assailants.
He was the former district vice president of BJP Kisan Morcha. His family members had said that he did not have enmity with anyone.
On October 10, BJP leader Kabir Tiwari was shot dead in Basti. Kabir was a former student leader and his murder had led to chaos as student groups went on rampage. This had resulted in transferring of Basti superintendent of police Pankaj Kumar.
But reasons behind the murder of all three BJP leaders is not known yet. But the fact that they were killed in a similar manner within a week's span is surely a matter of concern.
