To feed the poor, Uttar Pradesh will have community kitchens. The government has also increased the salaries of healthcare workers

Bengaluru: While the viral vengeance is at its peak, India is fighting the menace as one. People are doing whatever they can to ameliorate the situation by serving cooked food to the patients.

Now in Uttar Pradesh, community kitchens will be started to take care of the poor, labourers and migrants.

The state’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed his officials in this regard.

He has also asked them to ensure that there is no scarcity of food for labourers, daily wage workers, street vendors, handcart pullers and others and that they are provided with proper meals during the course of lockdown.

The state government has also been providing rations to Antyodya cardholders in the months of May and June.

UP government increases salaries of healthcare workers:

In what comes as an acknowledgement of the tireless service put in by the healthcare and frontline workers, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to increase the honorarium to them.

What this means is that those who are rendering their service in the ongoing pandemic will get a pat on their back and continue to involve themselves more enthusiastically in their endeavour to help people.

CM Adityanath said, "Services rendered by all workers involved in Covid-related works is an example of a sense of seva bhaav (sense of service) and duty."

Now all health workers, including doctors, paramedical staff, housekeeping staff, sanitation workers, accredited social health activists (Asha) and Aanganwadi workers will be given an additional 25 per cent of their salary or honorarium for their COVID-19 duty days.
