Unnao: Gas tank explodes at Hindustan Petroleum plant

New Delhi: An incident of a gas tank exploding at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Plant has been reported from Unnao, today. Fire tenders have rushed to the spot to douse the flames. Details on the same are awaited.

As soon as the explosion occurred, fire tenders rushed to the spot. It is said that the blast occurred due to a leakage in the valve at the plant.

After the explosion, Jhansi Passenger, Unnao-LTT train, Unnao to Ajgain train and the Kanpur Shatabdi train on the Lucknow-Kanpur route were blocked.

The Hindustan Petroleum management issued a warning to the residents living within 4-5 kilometre radius from the plant. They were asked to vacate the place, claim reports.
