Tollywood actor Sivaji was accused of collaborating with TV9’s former CEO, Ravi Prakash in generating fake documents to acquire shares.

Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Sivaji, who is reportedly accused of producing fake documents along with former CEO of TV9 Ravi Prakash to acquire shares of the media company, was held on Wednesday (July 3) at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

According to reports, the actor was headed to the United States (US) to attend a cultural programme. But, as the "look out" notice was issued, the airport authorities detained the actor and handed him over to the Cyberabad police.

The reports further stated that Cyberabad police took the actor into custody for further investigation and questioned him for nearly two hours before they let him go.

The actor is accused in a fraud case along with TV9 former CEO Ravi Prakash for allegedly acquiring 40,000 shares of the company. Alanda Media and Entertainments Pvt, which owns the TV9 media group had filed a complaint against him and Ravi Prakash.

Over the past few months, Cyberabad police had summoned the actor multiple times, but he failed to show up. As Sivaji ignored the summons, the police decided to call for a "look out" notice in case if he tries to flee the country.

However, the actor had urged the Telangana high court to quash the First Investigation Report against him.

In a media report, the actor told the court that he had paid Rs 20 lakh in February 2018 to Ravi Prakash and purchased 40,000 shares.

Later, on June 26, the high court instructed the police to not take any forced action against the actor till July 9. The court also issued a stay against his arrest.
