A local leader from Telangana Rashtra Samithi attacked a 20-year-old man and set fire to his two-wheeler for not giving him ‘respect’
Hyderabad: TRS party leader K Arun Kumar (35) threatened a 20-year-old man at Rahmath Nagar in Jubilee Hills, alleging that he did not wish him with a ‘namaste’.
The 20-year-old man, identified as Umakanth, is a pan shop owner-cum-driver. He complained to the Jubilee Hills police that when he was returning home, he was stopped by Arun Kumar. Kumar started arguing with him because he apparently did not greet him with a ‘namaste’. He allegedly threatened Umakanth with a knife accusing him of not wishing him. K Arun Kumar then set Umakanth’s two-wheeler ablaze.
Police were alerted after Umakanth’s two-wheeler was set on fire.
Kumar, along with his supporters picked an argument with Umakanth even in front of police. Several other supporters of Kumar joined him and were prepared to attack Umakanth and his associates.
The TRS leader and his aides used abusive language and also started a scuffle with police, when they tried to intervene. A video posted on Twitter captured the TRS party leader’s behaviour:
