On Tuesday, the body of a person was recovered in the morning in Amalsol area of Jaipur Police station in Bankura district. The body has been identified to be that of Sayedul Islam Midda (32), a resident of Chorkala village.

The primary investigation conducted by the police has revealed that there are many injuries on the body of the deceased and police have ruled it a murder. Midda was working in a pesticide shop under Kotulpur police station.

On Monday night, neither did the victim return from work nor was he found. As he was not back at home until late at night, families started searching but to no avail. On Tuesday morning, the victim's body was found in the vicinity of Jaipur police station. The body was sent to Bishnupur district hospital for a post-mortem.

After receiving information about the incident, state minister and local MLA Shyamal Santram went to the house of the victim and offered his condolences to the family members.

The Trinamool minister told the family members that the deceased was a party worker and that he had come to be with the family in tough times. He accused the BJP of committing murder and said that the killing was systematically planned. He assured the family that police have been instructed to arrest all those involved.

In the same area, BJP's Shailen Mandal of Kotulpur has said that the allegations against the BJP are totally baseless as TMC had won a completely one-sided win in the General elections 2019.

The BJP has said that the murder is being politically coloured by the TMC for political gains. No information about arrests has been received so far.

Bengal has witnessed many alleged political murders in the run-up to the election and after the results. Most of the victims are said to be from BJP. But if this allegation is true, it clearly gives a hint of a counter-offensive against the ruling TMC in Bengal.
