Terrorists to hit South India, says Southern Army Commander

The Southern Command of the Indian Army on Monday ((September 9) said it has received intelligence inputs on a possible terror attack in the southern part of India.
 


Southern Army Commander revealed that abandoned boats have been found near Sir Creek and there is a possibility of terror attack in the southern part of India. "We've inputs that there may be a terrorist attack in southern part of India. Some abandoned boats have been recovered from Sir Creek. We're taking precautions to ensure that designs of inimical elements and terrorists are stalled," said Lt Gen SK Saini, Saini, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Southern Command.

The police have tightened security near places of worship, railway stations and bus terminus across in Tamil Nadu after intelligence reports pointed that six IS terrorists from Sri Lanka, including a Pakistan national, have seeped into Coimbatore from the neighbouring island nation. An alert had been sounded, especially in coastal districts, to prevent any further possible intrusion. 

Regarding the Army’s warning, Kerala Police chief alerted all district police chiefs asking them to maintain tight security in the state. Security will tightened in  busy areas like railway stations, bus stands  and airports. Police will also be on high alert in places that are likely to see heavy crowds in and around Onam celebrations on Wednesday (September 11).
