New Delhi: A Kashmiri student pursuing his PhD in Geology from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) drops out half way through, goes back home, joins terror outfit Hizbul Mujahedeen, becomes a terrorist and is gunned down in an encounter by the Army in Kupwara’s Handwara in October last year.

The terrorist was Manan Bashir Wani. Who was his godfather?

MyNation has clinching evidence that Wani was patronised by the so-called ‘hawk’ among the hardline separatists in Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Figure this

Geelani has been able to dodge the national investigative agencies as he never directly sullied his hands in the business of terrorism. But, only so far.

Till now only one of his two sons, Naim-ul-Zaffar, and his son-in-law have landed in the dragnet of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for having funded terror in Kashmir. Geelani has stayed clean, only politically using terrorism to attack the nation and blackmail the state.

While in 2015, Geelani had kicked up a storm when he called slain terrorists ‘martyrs’ and ‘bravehearts’, ranting that ‘the sacred blood of martyrs will not go in vain’. This picture rather proves a thousand charges of terror funding, extending patronage to terrorists, and radicalisation.

Earlier, in the wake of the dastardly Pulwama attack on CRPF that claimed over 40 lives of security personnel, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had taken up a rather conveniently very fine political line.

While they had said that they “can feel and understand the pain and sense of loss that the family and friends of those who are killed go through”, they had also attributed the attacks in Kashmir to the “delay in resolution to the Kashmir dispute” and “denial to engage with the sentiments and aspirations of the people of J&K”.

Nowhere had they said that they are the ones to foster radicalism and brainwash the youth of the Valley and goad them to join terrorism.
