A temple in Tamil Nadu has decided to create and consecrate an idol Corona Devi

Bengaluru: When things go uncontrollable, it is always a practice to seek the intervention of the divine.

Even in the ongoing covid pandemic, people are praying that the disease comes down and they are able to lead normal lives.

As India Today reports, a temple in Tamil Nadu has decided to consecrate a idol in the name of covid.

Christened as Corona Devi, it will come up in Kamatchipuri Adhinam, a temple in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore.

The website adds that Kamatchipuri Adhinam has decided to use granite to create the idol and conduct special prayers for 48 days. Maha Yagam will be held during which people will not be allowed to visit the temple to offer prayers.

In Hinduism, it is a practice to pray to the Almighty to intervene and make things easier and hunky-dory whenever any situation goes out of control.

It is also to be noted that such temples – with dedicated goddesses – came up earlier as well during the plague epidemic.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all DCs to take effective measures to tackle the pandemic. In a meeting with them on Monday, he spoke on the importance of having medical equipment ready.
