Bengaluru: While viral vengeance is at its worst in India, throwing life out of gear, a few have risen to the occasion to bury all differences and throw open their doors for the benefit of all.
Hindu temples in the country have opened up their premises by converting them into covid centres.
Swaminarayan Temple, Gujarat:
The temple in Vadodara has converted its Yagnapurush Sabhagruh to a Covid-19 facility. It is equipped with 500 beds, oxygen facilities like liquid oxygen tanks and piped oxygen lines, ICU beds and ventilators.
Till now, 45 covid patients have been admitted and being taken care of.
“We are providing all the non-medical facilities for patients. We have arranged for oxygen and ventilators including the ICU rooms apart from fans and air-coolers. Currently, 300 beds are operational and 200 will be added soon,” Gyan Vatsal Swami of the Shri Swaminarayan Temple was quoted as saying.
Puri Jagannath Temple, Odisha
One of the most important Hindu temples, the Puri Jagannath temple has also opened its precincts for the afflicted.
Converting its Nilachal Bhakta Nivas, the temple has ensured it has 120 beds with all the necessary measures.
It should be noted that the temple has also pledged a sum of Rs 1.51 crore to the CM’s fund.
Mahavir temple, Patna
The Mahavir temple trust in Patna is going to provide free-of-cost oxygen from Friday (30 April), according to a report published in News18 India.
Initially, the trust is filling up 150 oxygen cylinders.
People can use it free of cost.
Pawan Dham temle in Mumbai
The Pawandham Temple in Mumbai’s Kandivali has once again converted its four-storey building into a Covid-19 quarantine centre equipped with 100 beds. Out of the 100, 50 beds are equipped with an oxygen concentrator unit, oximeters, pulse metre, portable BP apparatus, monitor machine among others. Additionally, more than 50 medical staff including 10 doctors are deployed in the facility.
