Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan was caught on camera making a derogatory remark about Prada during a public rally in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has sent a notice to senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan over his controversial remark about BJP leader Jaya Prada.
In an official statement, the NCW said: “Whereas the Commission strongly condemns such irresponsible and disparaging comment from persons holding responsible positions”
The statement further added, “In view of the above, you are hereby required to provide a satisfactory explanation to the Commission on the matter on receipt of this letter.”

"Jaya Prada's underwear is of saffron colour. It may have taken you 17 years to realise that, but I realised in 17 days".
BJP spokesperson and in-charge of Rampur Lok Sabha seat, Chandramohan, said: “We are requesting the Election Commission to take cognisance. Khan said this in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav. He should tell what kind of politics he is doing.”
An FIR was filed against Khan at a police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahabad on a complaint by election flying squad.
Meanwhile, Prada said: “It isn't new for me, you might remember that I was a candidate from his party in'09 when no one supported me after he made comments against me.I'm a woman&I can't even repeat what he said. I don't know what I did to him that he is saying such things.”
However, Khan dismissed all allegations and said that he will not contest in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 if proven guilty.
