After PM Narendra Modi assured the nation that not even an inch of India’s land had been ceded to China, Rahul Gandhi cast aspersions yet again

Bengaluru: As always, the Congress has tried to play smart over the Prime Minister’s address after the all-party meet over the Galwan clash.

Narendra Modi assured the nation, through his address, that not even an inch of land has been ceded to China.

He said, "Alertness expands as alertness increases and we also get notified about developments on the LAC timely. Sectors where we did not focus in the past, our soldiers are now efficiently able to monitor and respond. Till now, whoever was not asked or stopped, our soldiers now stop them at each turn. When they are questioned, tensions rise."

But Rahul Gandhi gave a twist to it and cast aspersions and doubted the Prime Minister’s statements.

He said that the PM has surrendered.

PM has surrendered Indian territory to Chinese aggression.

What the Prime Minister essentially said was that though there was a clash between China and India and India lost 20 soldiers, as of now, no land which belongs to India was given away to China and that India has maintained its territorial integrity perfectly well.

It should also be noted that it was Rahul Gandhi who had questioned the government as to why our soldiers had gone unarmed.

And as a befitting reply to it, EAM Jaishankar had himself said, “Let us get the facts straight. All troops on border duty always carry arms, especially when leaving post. Those at Galwan on 15 June did so. Long-standing practice (as per 1996 & 2005 agreements) not to use firearms during faceoffs.”

At the all-party meet as well, Congress tried its best to cast aspersions on the Prime Minister by saying all sorts of things like India lost time among others.

But other parties like Shiva Sena, TMC, YSRCP among others, threw their weight behind the Prime Minister and urged him to take punitive measures at the right time.
