People took to social media to criticise the Bengal government, the police and the CID for refusing to take action, despite repeated requests

Purulia: Even two weeks after police recovered the decomposed body of a teenage girl who was brutally gang-raped and murdered, there has been no outrage and cry for justice like Asifa and Nirbhaya cases.

People took to social media to criticise the Bengal government, the police and the CID for refusing to take action, despite repeated requests.

If Asifa or Nirbhaya Rape Case Deserve So Much Protest,

Then why not for Manika Mahato , who is kidnapped , tortured and gangraped by culprits in Purulia, West Bengal.
But no investigation is made against them.

The residents of the area demanded a CID probe and also asked for the Officer-in-Charge of Bandwan police station’s resignation.

The victim’s family also faced police atrocities. According to reports, the cops refused to register a complaint following her kidnapping.

The case

The 17-year-old girl who went missing on May 3 from Bandwan in Bengal’s Purulia was a student of Class XII and had scored over 95% marks in Madhyamik Examination.

The police have not yet recovered her school bag, purse and mobile phone.

A march was held on May 18 condemning the killing of the young girl. Protesters also demanded that a section of the media has been trying to hide the criminals.
