Mamata Banerjee's image took a hit recently after the BJP went all out to portray her as anti-Hindu in order to consolidate the Hindu votes. It worked for the BJP where the saffron party managed to get 18 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats from the state. Now, Prashant Kishor is likely to turnaround Mamata's image

New Delhi: Communication expert and well-known election campaign manager Prashant Kishor is believed to have got in touch with Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to 'help' her in reshaping her image after the recent poor performance of the TMC in Bengal.

The meeting between the two went on for more than an hour, say inputs coming in from Nabanna, the Bengal state secretariat. People privy to the development say, Kishor was "happy to offer his services". But whether he was contacted by TMC or he himself approached the ruling party of Bengal is unclear as of now.

Even after the election was over, the TMC MLAs continued to leave the party. Her recent reaction against Jai Shri Ram, a Hindu chant created a nation-wide outrage against Mamata. Kishor couldn't have walked into TMC’s life in a better time than this, when the image needs an urgent repositioning.

Kishor has worked closely with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar who gave him a Cabinet rank. Earlier, he worked shoulder-to-shoulder with Narendra Modi's BJP in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha election. He was widely credited for the "Ab ki bar Modi sarkar' campaign but later he fell off with the BJP.
