September 17 marks Prime Minister Modi’s 69th birthday. He addressed a gathering at his home town in Gujarat wherein he spoke about the achievements that the government has done in the past 100 days, while hailing the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Kevadia (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally as he kickstarted the Narmada Mahotsav at the Sardar Sarovar Dam site in Kevadia. PM Modi said that it was a great privilege to him to pay a visit to “maa Narmada” on his birthday.
Prime Minister Modi further added that the Sardar Sarovar Dam which is in its full capacity now, and the statue of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel also known as the ‘Statue of unity’ symbolised willpower and resilience.
Batting for the locals and the tribes, PM Modi said that tourists will be so fond of this place that they would stay here much longer now than they did earlier.

The Prime Minister further said, “Today the work of cleaning the lakes, ponds, rivers is being done. He also spoke about the Har Ghar Har Jal yojana wherein every household will be given sufficient water.
Today, even in areas of Kutch and Saurashtra where water could not reach for many days, Mother Narmada has blessed us,” he added.
Micro irrigation has saved upto 50 percent water in Gujarat, reduced fertilizer use by 25 per cent, reduced labour cost by 40 percent and has also resulted in electricity saving, stated PM Modi

Speaking about the environment, PM Modi pushed for the non wastage of water and for being cautious while using single use plastic materials.
While hailing the abrogation of Articles 35A and 370, PM Modi said, ““I’m sure that J&K, Ladakh and Kargl will see new developments. In the last 100 days, we have strengthened our government."
