Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains on Tuesday, March 12. Along with this, he also inaugurated several other projects related to railway.
Vande Bharat express trains represent India’s significant progress in transportation infrastructure. On Tuesday, March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains. PM Modi also inaugurated several other railway-related projects along with this.
10 new Vande Bharat trains
Following PM Modi’s inauguration of 10 new Vande Bharat trains on 12th of March, the total count of these trains in operation across the country is now 51. Prior to this, 41 Vande Bharat trains operated in the country.
Expanding the network
According to the Northern Railway, alongside the inauguration of 10 new Vande Bharat trains, expansions are planned for 4 existing Vande Bharat trains. The Gorakhpur Vande Bharat route will be extended to Prayagraj Junction. This will significantly reduce the travel time from Prayagraj to Lucknow to just 3 hours. A stop at Rae Bareilly will also be inaugurated between Prayagraj and Lucknow.
Furthermore, two more new passenger trains are set to be introduced. Northern Railway will also oversee the introduction of 5 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, 147 One Station One Product outlets, and 5 Rail Coach restaurants.
Other railway projects
Prime Minister also inaugurated railway projects worth over Rs 85 thousand crore on Tuesday. The projects include 2 goods warehouses, Jan Aushadhi Kendra, rail coach restaurants, the Anand Bihar-Tilak Bridge third and fourth rail lines, 48 OSOP outlets, 17 DFC (Cargo Handling Points), and various other initiatives within the Delhi division. Additionally, the projects include the doubling of Akbarpur-Barabanki, Jaunpur-Akbarpur, Roza-Sitapur-Budhwal, Rajpura-Bathinda rail sections.
