Pakistan violates ceasefire agreement in Jammu and Kashmir as India and the rest of the world battel Coronavirus.
Bengaluru: Neither strange nor shocking! That is how our neighbours are!
These are tough times for the world as it battles coronavirus as one.
India is also undergoing a lockdown to prevent the spread of the dreaded coronavirus. But Pakistan, as Hindustan Times reports, Pakistan is busy violating the ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reportedly, the violation took place this afternoon and the Indian troops were forced to retaliate at the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Uri sector.
The paper quoted locals saying that the firing went on for a couple of hours in the afternoon and damaged a house which was hit by a shell fired by the Pakistani side. Thankfully, no loss of life was reported.
Additionally, the locals claimed that several mortar shells landed in the villages of Mothal, Silikote, Hatlthanga and Churunda, all located on the zero line.
Quite naturally, villages were tense.
The website quoted Irshad Ahmad, a resident of Uri as saying, “The fresh firing has spread panic in the villages, unfortunately when the world is engulfed in disease Covid -19 and fighting it out to save mankind, here Pakistani soldiers are targeting pickets.”
The attacks on the Indian side are being carried out in retaliation for the abrogation of articles 35A and 370 which the Indian government – under PM Modi – took in August last year.
The passage of the bill integrated Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India.
As reported by Hindustan Times, Indian intelligence authorities also suspect the involvement of Pakistan’s intelligence services in the attack on a Gurdwara in Kabul early Wednesday morning that killed at least 28 people. The involvement of the ISI backed Haqqani network has not been ruled out despite the banned Islamic State (IS) taking the responsibility for the attack.
