Head of Pakistan’s Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Mushahid Hussain Syed busts his country’s stand; praises government, military, media and opposition for lying in one voice

Islamabad: Pakistan’s veil of lies on the Pulwama fidayeen attack keeps falling off.

This time, head of Pakistan’s Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Mushahid Hussain Syed has called the suicide attack “Pakistan’s finest hour after the nuclear tests of 1998”.

This damning and embarrassing bragging comes even as Pakistan keeps unconvincingly lying to the world about its involvement in the terror attack that killed 44 Indian CRPF soldiers.

Earlier, Pakistan’s foreign minister accepted that terrorist mastermind Masood Azhar, chief of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) that claimed the responsibility for Pulwama, was in Pakistan.

MyNation has accessed the video footage of Syed’s speech in Islamabad where he made this virulent submission.

The Pakistan Muslim League (Q) senator from the Islamabad Capital Territory, who is also the party secretary general, lauded the Imran Khan government, military leadership, media and also the Opposition for “handling” the Pulwama attack as “everybody struck a common cord”.

Speaking on March 14 at the 3rd Coordination meeting of think-tanks organised by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Syed said: “I will make two-three very quick points: One, I think what has happened in February in Pulwama, in my view in the last twenty years this was Pakistan’s finest hour after the nuclear tests of 1998 when everybody was on the same page we took the right decisions at the right time in the right manner, and then we scored internationally and also with our own people.”

He said after the nuclear tests, in Pulwama and its aftermath “everybody struck a common cord and I would certainly say this was our finest hour in the last 20 years”.

Ironically, this venom-spewing bureaucrat-turned-politician and former journalist is also the first Pakistani to be honoured by Amnesty International as the ‘Prisoner of Conscience’.

He is the former director of Pakistan Administrative Staff College where he trained foreign services officers.
