While addressing the flag hoisting ceremony at Islamabad, Pakistan President Arif Alvi said that citizens should call for a social media war against India.

Islamabad: Pakistan President Arif Alvi while addressing a flag hoisting ceremony at Islamabad has openly asked its citizens wage a social media war against India over the issue of Kashmir. He added that citizens should post videos and photographs on Kashmir, stating that it was their “big weapon”.

Days after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan started to peddle fake news and abuse on social media. India revoked Article 370 of the Constitution to withdraw the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

In the flag hoisting ceremony, the Pak President said that today the world is watching how Pakistan stood with their Kashmiri brothers. He said, “We will not leave Kashmiris as they are our people, and we think their pain is our pain”.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence has unleashed social media propaganda targeting the Indian security forces and pushing the anti-India narrative.

As of now, Pakistan has not received any support from the international community after India decided to change the status of Jammu and Kashmir. From Russia to the US, India has received all-round support for its decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Russia has backed India's move on Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the changes in the status are within the framework of the Indian Constitution and hoped that the differences between India and Pakistan are resolved bilaterally on the basis of the Simla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration.
