Asserting that Islamabad needs to provide unhindered and unimpeded consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, India has said that it has not received any communication from Pakistan on its national’s case
New Delhi: Asserting that Islamabad needs to provide unhindered and unimpeded consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, India has said that it has not received any communication from Pakistan on its national’s case.
Replying to a query, external affairs ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava has said that Pakistan needs to provide unhindered, unimpeded consular access to him. It also needs to address basic issues which pertain to effective review, fulfilment and implementation of ICJ judgement.
These issues pertain to making relevant documentation available to India and providing unimpeded, unhindered and unconditional consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, he added.
On Pakistan's new map that includes Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and parts of western Gujarat, the spokesperson said, this type of baseless claims show that Pakistan wants to take control of more areas by using cross border terrorism.
Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui on Thursday has said that Pakistan has re-contacted Indian government over matter of appointing legal representative for Jadhav. During the news briefing, the spokesperson said that the move came under the light of Islamabad High Court (IHC) directives. “We are waiting for the response of Indian authorities on this matter,” she told.
Earlier, Islamabad High Court had directed the government to re-contact India for appointment of legal representative for Kulbhushan Jadhav.
