Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that the country will be snapping diplomatic ties with India and also said that Indian envoy will be expelled from Pakistan. On August 6, he had said that he will bring the issue to the notice of the United Nations.

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan held a security meeting in Islamabad and reports claim that Pakistan will snap diplomatic ties with India following the abolition of Article 370 by India that led to the declaration of Kashmir and Ladakh as union territories.

Latest reports claim that Pakistan will also expel the Indian envoy in Pakistan.

On Tuesday, Khan had said that he will approach the United Nations with regard to actions taken by India in terms of Jammu and Kashmir.

He had vowed to challenge, at the UN Security Council, India's decision to strip Kashmir of its special autonomy. He demanded action from the international community. He announced it in the joint session of parliament in Islamabad on Tuesday.

"I want to make it clear that we will fight this issue on every forum, (including) at the UN Security Council," said Khan, according to Reuters.

He also said that the issue will be addressed to the International Criminal Court. "If the world does not act today... (if) the developed world does not uphold its own laws, then things will go to a place that we will not be responsible for," Khan reportedly added.

Reacting on India's move, General Qamar Javed Bajwa in a tweet stated "Pakistan Army firmly stands by the Kashmiris in their just struggle to the very end. We are prepared and shall go to any extent to fulfil our obligations in this regard."

Meanwhile, today, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval visited Kashmir and met the local residents in Shopian and lunched with them. Doval directed officials concerned to ensure safety of common people in the wake of developments following the abolition of Article 370.
