Thousands have taken to the online yoga programmes offered by the Ayush ministry during the ongoing pandemic

Bengaluru: As the nation battles the second wave of coronavirus, the Ayush ministry is offering quality online Yoga training programmes through the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY). These are health-promotive and anxiety-relieving, provide useful support to the common people to balance their daily lives in the changed scenario. In addition to physical health and emotional well-being, Yoga also offers a positive pathway to overcome the activity crisis faced by many people who are constrained to stay at home due to the pandemic.

This programme has received tremendous response, notes a statement from Ayush ministry.

It adds that presently, it streams Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) training programmes on their social media platforms on a daily basis. These are high-quality online instructive videos of CYP, designed to enable the common people to practice Yoga at home.

The course, apart from imparting Yoga learning, also gives the learner an opportunity to be endorsed as a “Yoga Volunteer”.

One of the chief principles to contain the spread of the virus is to avoid congregation. So these online programmes help in the cause and have reached out to thousands of people over the last two months.

It is interesting to note that many have acknowledged the role of Yoga to consciously fight the coronavirus, and many of them see Yoga as a valuable support in this fight.

MDNIY has accordingly promoted the message “Be with Yoga, Be at Home” against the backdrop of the pandemic to provide Yoga training to one and all. The MDNIY will also be organising various preparatory activities for the International day of Yoga on June 21.
