Odisha: Krushi Bhawan inspired by farmers wins Global Architecture Award

Bengaluru: Amid all the protests over the farms bills, here’s a positive piece of news that has come India’s way. Odisha Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has dedicated the prestigious AZ Awards-2020 for Odisha's architectural marvel Krushi Bhavan, to farmers and artisans of the state.

The announcement came after Bhubaneswar-based Krushi Bhawan building was selected as the "People's Choice Winner" at the AZ Awards 2020 in the Social Good Category.
The chief minister said this award is possible for farmers and artisans of Odisha, the inspiration behind the design of this building. The Krushi Bhawan was the only project from India at the globally recognised prestigious award.

"Odisha's architectural marvel Krushi Bhavan has added another feather to its hat, emerging as Peoples Choice Winner in Social Good category at the prestigious AZAward20. This award is dedicated to farmers and artisans of Odisha, the inspiration behind design of this building," the Chief Minister's Office said in a tweet.

Krushi Bhawan had also become India's first government building and Odisha's first-ever building to feature in Dezeen, a prestigious international journal on architecture.
