Mangaluru: Thanks to Mangaluru jail authorities’ negligence, two murder accused brothers walked out of jail on bail.

Two murder accused brothers Shivaji and Jagadeesh had applied for bail. But the Mangaluru jail officials mistook the bail plea as bail order and let both walk out of prison.

Reports claim that officials failed to go through the papers properly and mistook the bail plea as order. Immediately all the bail procedure was completed and the brothers were allowed to leave the jail on bail on July 9.

Shivaji and Jagadeesh were accused in the murder case of Kadri Rohit Kotian, who was killed on May 8, 2016, over a financial dispute. The cops had stated that the murder was planned and the two accused along with two others arrived in an auto rickshaw to attack Rohit, knowing his whereabouts. The

A report in Times of India stated that the brothers were very happy as they had not expected to get the bail plea approved. They happily returned to their families. But the happiness was short-lived as their lawyer found out the goof up and the parole was cut short after three days.

The advocate informed the duo that the parole was unofficial and asked them to return to jail. Accordingly, Shivaji and Jagadeesh were taken back to jail from their house.

Meanwhile, the district jail superintendent took the responsibility and admitted that the accused were let off by mistake.
