With Maharashtra elections in less than a month, state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis called for a press conference and hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their exceptional contribution to the country
Mumbai: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday (September 23) called for a press conference and thanked Prime Minister Modi and the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for taking a step towards reducing corporate tax, in a bid to boost the corporate sector.
Speaking to media Fadnavis said, "Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman's move to reduce corporate tax is a very bold move as the Maharashtra state would be one of the biggest beneficiaries".

Fadnavis further said that many companies have come to Maharashtra and made investments of about Rs 9,000 crores in recent times.
The Maharashtra chief minister also spoke about another decision that was made by the Centre, which was the reduction in the repo rate. He further stressed on how the repo rate was the lowest for the last nine years.
During the press conference, Devendra Fadnavis also spoke about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its investment in research in the state.
He also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Replying to a question, Fadnavis stated, “Why could Article 370 not be on the agenda? He further connected the Centre's move to abrogate Article 370 to Jammu and Kashmir to the European nation where their nationalism stands as their agenda.

Maharashtra Assembly would be going to the polls on October 21, and the results would be announced on October 24. The last day to file the nomination is October 4 and the last day of the withdrawal of nomination is on October 7.
