Bengaluru: With the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati adjourning the house till March 26, with the ostensible Coronavirus reason, it has given fresh lease of life for the Kamal Nath-led Congress government, which is teetering on the brink.
Kamal Nath had to prove his majority, as directed by the Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon, but now, with the Speaker rushing to his rescue, he can breathe free till that time.
But as expected, the fight has reached the Supreme Court.

The Speaker adjourned the house immediately after the Governor addressed it.
The Governor in his address asked the MLAs to uphold democratic ideals. He also told the government to hold a floor test today itself.
It might be recalled that the Speaker has accepted the resignations of six rebel ministers. Now, the majority mark stands at 113. The strength of the house before was 228.
The BJP had issued a whip to its MLAs to be present in the house on Monday.
BJP president JP Nadda was also holding a meeting with MP BJP leaders on the issue.
The crisis in Madhya Pradesh Congress had always been a threat to its existence. Chief minister Kamal Nath and rebel young leader Jyotiraditya Scindia had always been at loggerheads.
The final nail in the coffin was when Jyotiraditya Scindia finally bid goodbye to the grand old party and joined the BJP in the presence of its president JP Nadda.
The BJP then nominated him for a Rajya Sabha seat from Madhya Pradesh.
In all probability, the state of Madhya Pradesh will follow what happened in Karnataka, in which Congress-JD(S) coalition was thrown out due to its own implosion.
