Lok Sabha election results 2019: Bhavya Bishnoi, Dushyant Chautala; Who is Hisar's choice?

New Delhi: Politically crucial parliamentary constituency – Hisar, is witnessing a triangular contest among the next generation of the prominent political leaders of the state.

Former chief minister Bhajan Lal’s 26-year-old grandson and Kuldip Bishnoi’s son Bhavya Bishnoi is contesting against the BJP’s Brijendra Singh, a former IAS officer and son of Union steel minister Birender Singh and MLA mother from Uchana, Prem Lata. Singh is also the great-grandson of prominent farmer leader Chotu Ram.

They are fielded against another Jannayak Janta Party (JJP’s) leader Dushyant Chautala, who is also the sitting member of Parliament. He is the third candidate in the battle of political dynasties and the grandson of former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala and the great-grandson of former deputy prime minister Chaudhary Devi Lal. 

Dushyant Chautala is contesting his first Lok Sabha election after floating his party following the split in Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in December last year.

The Hisar Lok Sabha seat has nine assembly segments of Uchana Kalan, Adampur, Uklana (SC), Narnaund, Hansi, Barwala, Hisar, Nalwa, Bawani Khera (SC) and also the Jat heartland in the state. It is one of the few seats with the INLD.

People of Hisar voted in the sixth round of the seven-phased Lok Sabha election on May 12.

Dushyant Chautala currently holds this seat. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Dushyant Chautala defeated Kuldeep Bishnoi of HJC by receiving 42.80% of the votes cast in this constituency. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. In Hisar, the male voter turnout was 77.23% and 74.89% female voters turned out for voting.
