New Delhi: The tension between India and Pakistan is cooling down as the number of ceasefire violation this month along the Line of Control (LoC) have reduced. If reports are to be believed, the number of ceasefire violation in this month is much lower than the first four months of the year.

This sudden decrease in number can also be attributed to Pakistan’s request made to India to de-escalate the cross border tension between the two nation.

Sources said that due to damage caused by the Indian forces in the last four months and especially post-Pulwama attack, Pakistani diplomats have requested for military de-escalation along LoC.

Post Pulwama attack, Pakistan has been constantly engaged in ceasefire violation, sometimes even more than 10 times a day. In retaliation, Indian forces also gave befitting replies and managed to damage many posts and kill Pakistani soldiers. Indian soldiers have been giving aggressive reply after Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists carried out a suicide bombing on CRPF convoy in which more than 40 jawans were killed.

According to reports, while only nine cases of violation in the month of May has been reported so far, a total of 982 cases of ceasefire violations were reported for the past four months. In January, there were 203 ceasefire violations, 215 in February, 267 in March and 234 in April.

Meanwhile, the security forces have been carrying out flush-out operations for terrorists in Kashmir Valley. Forces have killed close to 75 terrorists in 2019 which includes 31members of JeM.

Despite Pakistan’s move to bring down the heat along the borders, India remains firm on the decision that de-escalation will only come when Pakistan takes action against the terror organisations operating from their territory.

Pakistan is also under immense global pressure to act against terrorists after United Nations Security Council declared JeM chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. Pakistan is constantly trying to portray itself as a stringent nation against terror but has been shielding their activities.

Pakistan reportedly also tried to do cover up of existence for JeM at Balakot terror facility which was attacked by the IAF on February 26.
