KA Ratheesh, who is still an accused in the CBI case regarding the corruption of Rs 500 crore, is all set to be appointed as the chief of Consumerfed in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government is set to appoint KA Rathesh, accused in a corruption case by the CBI, as the chief of Consumerfed. Ratheesh was earlier ousted by the then UDF government from the post of chief of Kerala Cashew Development Corporation Limited.

When the LDF government came into power, they gave a clean chit to Ratheesh in all cases.  Now he has bagged the first position in the list after interview for the post of chief of Consumerfed.

Out of the 15 interviews conducted with five selected persons, the government prepared the final list, where Ratheesh was awarded the first position. Last year, the state government appointed Ratheesh as the executive director of the Kerala Institute of Entrepreneurship Development.

However, Ratheesh is still an accused in the case registered by the CBI relating to corruption of Rs 500 crore. Ratheesh was chief of Cashew Development Corporation for 11 years under three governments.

According to reports, Consumerfed is already under scanner after corruption of Rs 1,000 crore, 44 vigilance cases and 65 enquiry reports on it.
