A 44-year-old blind man, who hails from Kota, Rajasthan, has sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a donation of Rs 110 crore to the Pulwama martyrs’ families

Kota: A 44-year-old man from Kota has offered to donate Rs 110 crore from his taxable income to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. This is for the welfare of the families of the martyred jawans in the Pulwama terror attack.

Murtaza A Hamid has sought an appointment with PM Narendra Modi in connection with this.

Hamid, 44, who is blind since birth, has completed his graduation in commerce from Government Commerce College, Kota, Rajasthan. He is currently working as a researcher in Mumbai.

Speaking about his donation, Hamid said that the inspiration to help should be in one’s blood in every citizen of the country.

Hamid said he has made a scientific innovation that could check on incidents like the Pulwama attack.

The researcher said he has innovated ‘Fuel Burn Radiation Technology’ which helps in tracing or locating any vehicle or object without GPS, camera or any other technical equipment.

Hamid said he had forwarded the proposal to hand it over free of cost to the government and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in 2016. However, the initial approval for his innovation came two years later, in 2018.

Hamid, although a commerce graduate, began being actively involved in science, technology and research.

A fire incident at a Jaipur petrol pump in 2010 piqued him to study the cause of fuel catching fire due to mobile phone signal.

This interest gave way to innovate ‘Fuel Barn Radiation’, said Hamid.
