Kerala: Thalayolaparambu police arrest 63-year-old man for 'sexually abusing' minor students

The Thalayolaparambu police reportedly said that Yusuf was subjected to sexual abuse while he was a child and to seek revenge from the man who abused him, he later raped his daughter.

Kochi: The Thalayolaparambu police arrested Yusuf, a 63-year-old madrasa teacher, on Saturday (June 1) for allegedly sexually abusing two minor students of his class in Thalayolaparambu in Kottayam, Kerala.

Yusuf, who hails from Aluva in Kerala, was arrested at Kodungalloor by the Thalayolaparambu police after a complaint was filed by the Mahallu committee which is an executive body of the mosque under which the madrasa functions.

Speaking to media, Thalayolaparambu SI Soofi TM said that they did not interrogate the children further as they were 10 years of age. He also said that the police officials would take further take action after the doctor's report arrives.

According to the police, Yusuf has raped more than a dozen children and escaped law and order as the parents of the victim children hesitated to file a complaint.

The police further said that Yusuf confessed he has been raping kids since he was the age of 25 and he was a victim of sexual assault when he was a child. Yusuf also took revenge by raping the daughter of the man who abused him.
