The 55-year-old man collapsed on stage while singing a song, a day before his daughter's wedding. On Sunday (May 26), his daughter Archa and Vishnuprasad married at Parimanam, Kollam in Kerala
Kollam: A Kerala sub-inspector P Vishnuprasad of Karamana Police station in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram died during his daughter’s pre-wedding ceremony on May 25. It was around 9:30pm when the 55-year-old man who was singing a song collapsed on stage.
Vishnuprasad had made all arrangements for his youngest daughter's pre-wedding ceremony including a musical band to spruce up festivities on the eve of the wedding. Vishnuprasad was apparently singing the Malayalam hit song from Mollywood star Mammootty's Amaram movie, Raakili ponmakale...
Vishnuprasad was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctors could not save him.
Relatives assured his daughter Archa that she would be able to meet her father soon. The relatives decided to let Archa know the truth only before the funeral on Monday.
On Sunday, the bride, Archa who was unaware of her father's demise, dressed up as a bride. Archa and Vishnuprasad of Kollam were married. Interestingly though, both Archa's father and husband had the same name.
According to sources, Vishnuprasad had a year left to complete his service in the police force. Along with his married daughter Archa, he is survived by his wife Sushma and two more children, Anuprasad and Aryaprasad.
