Kochi: Kerala crime branch arrested two people in connection with the beauty parlour shoot out that took place on December 15. The beauty parlour is owned by actor and model Leena Paul in Kochi. The accused are identified as Ernakulam native Bilal and Vipin. The two, who are arrested, also said that a doctor from Kollam too plays a crucial role in the crime.

According to sources, the crime branch said that a quotation for firing gun shots at the beauty parlour was handed over by a Kasaragod team linked to Mumbai gangster Ravi Pujari.

Pujari is accused of threatening a number of Bollywood stars including Farah Khan, Mahesh Bhatt, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Meanwhile, non-bailable warrants have been issued in several courts in India against Pujari.

On December 19, 2018, controversial actress Leena Maria Paul moved the Kerala high court, seeking police protection, days after two men allegedly fired gun shots at the beauty parlour owned by her. In her petition, she alleged that there was an imminent threat to her life and also her staff at the parlour.

The actress alleged that she had received threat calls on her mobile phone, demanding Rs 25 crore on November 3 as instructed by Pujari.

Leena Maria Paul alleged that a sub-inspector in the city police, five days before the incident, had informed her that such a firing would take place. The state crime branch questioned the sub-inspector regarding this incident. The cop said that a doctor gave him the information stating that the beauty parlour would be attacked.
