A 59-year-old man was rescued after being trapped in a hospital lift for two days, highlighting lift safety concerns.

In a startling incident, a 59-year-old man was rescued from a hospital lift after being trapped for two days. Ravindran Nair, a resident of Ulloor, had entered the lift at the OP Block of a government medical college on Saturday, intending to reach the first floor. However, he found himself stuck when the lift descended and failed to open.

Despite his attempts to call for help, Nair's phone was switched off, leaving him isolated. The alarming situation came to light on Monday morning when the lift operator conducted routine maintenance and discovered Nair inside.

On Sunday night, concerned family members reported him missing to the medical college police, prompting an investigation into his whereabouts. Authorities were alerted, leading to a search that ultimately resulted in his rescue.

Nair had visited the hospital for a medical checkup prior to the incident. Officials emphasized the importance of safety protocols for hospital lifts to prevent such occurrences in the future. The man's ordeal raises questions about lift safety and accessibility, especially in busy medical facilities.

Fortunately, Nair was unharmed and received immediate medical attention after being freed from the lift. This incident serves as a reminder of the need for regular checks and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all hospital visitors.
