Kochi: The Kerala high court acquitted Biju Radhakrishnan who was accused of killing his wife, Reshmi. The court observed that the allegations against Biju could not be proved due to lack of evidence. Biju's mother who was the second accused in the murder case also was acquitted in the case.

The high court division bench passed the new order in response to the petition filed by Biju Radhakrishnan, countering a trial court order that had sentenced him to life imprisonment.

The trial court had sentenced Biju to life in prison on January 24, 2014 and had been serving his term in the Poojappura central jail.

Reshmi, Biju's wife was murdered on February 4, 2006. A case of dowry harassment was filed against him. But later during the solar scam investigation, a case of murder was also filed against Biju.
