A group of 30 members, in the first phase, will reach Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Saturday from Palakkad, Kerala. According to sources, the Kerala State Electricity Board has decided to send 200 people from the team to Odisha.
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has sent a group of their members to Odisha to restore the power lines, which was destructed by Cyclone Fani. A group of 30 members, in the first phase, will reach Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Saturday from Palakkad, Kerala. According to sources, the KSEB has decided to send a total of 200 of their staff to Odisha.

In the second phase, a group consisting of 30 members from Kannur district, Kerala, will leave for Odisha on Saturday evening. This team will first head to Thrissur and from there, they will board the Shalimar Express to Bhubaneswar. The other staff of the KSEB will also be travelling to Odisha in the coming days.

The KSEB team is planning to work for 20 days in Odisha. Meanwhile, Kerala has donated an amount of Rs 10 crore to Odisha as distress relief fund. Similarly, the state government had sent its KSEB staff to Tamil Nadu when the state was reeling under the aftermath of Cyclone Gaja.
As the powerful storm Fani pummeled the coastal state, almost one million people were evacuated in Odisha. Unfortunately, 41 people still lost their lives. Even four days after Cyclone Fani, Odisha is still reeling under severe crisis. It is also reported that over one lakh electric posts in Odisha were destructed due to the cyclone.
